INTERN: Underwriting

Job Summary
To provide technical assistance and support services to the Underwriting team and management, with appropriate approval. Underwriting tech handles several aspects of policy processing and issuance, which include new business and/or renewal preparation; endorsement processing; cancellations; and/or all other policy processing associated tasks.

TWC Tech

Job Summary
Responsible for the general support of the Tribal Workers’ Compensation Unit assuming full responsibility for all phases of clerical management for staff and accounts as assigned including, but not limited to, claim setup, form completion, medical bill processing and other duties as assigned.

Position Characteristics and Competencies

  • Answers incoming calls and provides instructions on claim filing requirements, determines purpose of calls, ensuring professional telephone etiquette.. 
  • Receives, examines, verifies, evaluates, and prepares insurance claims requests and forms. 
  • Makes medical claim payments for insurance adjusters as requested.
  • Reviews and follows up on claims as needed.
  • Process new claims and disseminates the claims to appropriate adjuster.
  • Sends denial notification when claim is not covered.
  • Performs a wide variety of typing assignments which may be confidential in nature; operates personal computer to enter data, draft, edit, revise, and print letters, tables, reports, and other materials.
  • Stays abreast of new technologies and principles by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences: reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
  • Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents; develops and maintains data, and performs routine analyses and calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
  • Participates in cross-functional team process improvement projects.

Safety Manager

Job Summary
Oversees and manages the safety team to ensure that policies are properly serviced, processed and rated.  Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services, conducts training, welcomes new clients, handles and resolve complaints and services customer’s needs. Maintains strict confidentiality of privileged information.

Position Characteristics and Competencies

  • Communicates goals, objectives, policies and procedures in accordance with applicable tribal, federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Oversees employees and improves staff effectiveness by, training, coaching, counseling, timesheet approval, and recommending disciplinary actions for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.
  • Develops staff to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge and skill to promote products and drive sales.

Job Summary
Interacts directly with the senior report writers and other teams throughout the company to deliver reporting solutions and projects, translating numbers into common insurance language to help the company make better business decisions. This position will help build business intelligence and reporting solutions, producing a range of reports, dashboards, and other solutions. This role will compile data from disparate sources connecting the dots between unrelated systems to create good data integration onto reports. Enhance existing reports using various business intelligence tools, through information available in the data warehouse in order to deliver report solutions and reporting packages, database solutions, as well as maintenance of existing services and deliverables related to reporting needs.

Job Summary
With the guidance of the Senior Data Analyst, interacts directly with AMERIND teams to deliver quality data analysis initiatives and requests. Identify and interpret data sets from various sources, translating numbers into common insurance language to help the company make better business decisions. Be proactive with gaining experience in the database information systems; work out smarter solutions to more complex data issues to support senior level analysts’ reporting needs. Gathers data requirements from various departments and maps a data blueprint for reports. Performs data collection, compilation, and analysis for projects directed by senior data or business analysts.
