AMERIND Announces Winners of Its Nationwide Native American Poster Contest

Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. – AMERIND announced the winners of its 2022 Safety Poster Contest. The annual contest is open to Native American artists in kindergarten through eighth grade and promotes safety throughout Indian Country.

Tribal housing authorities were invited to submit entries to their Regional Housing Association for regional voting. Regional winners were submitted to AMERIND for nationwide voting. Voting took place on the AMERIND website. From the nationwide entries, one winner was selected in each of three age categories and announced at AMERIND’s annual meeting on May 18.

The age categories were kindergarten through grade three, grades four through six, and grades seven and eight. Each winner will receive $1,000. The winners are:

Kindergarten through grade three: Aolani Navenma
Grades four through six: Ky Poola
Grades seven and eight: Ava Leach
